La primera vez que crucé un puente estaba muy nerviosa. El cuerpo de agua era tan grande y en mi mente ya estaba tratando de buscar otro camino por si el puente no aguantaba. Estaba tratando de encontrar el cuerpo de tierra más cercano al que pudiera nadar en caso de que el puente cediera. De lo que no me di cuenta es de que los puentes están hechos para durar. Los puentes se ponen a prueba antes de que el público los utilice. Nos dan acceso para que podamos cruzar a un destino determinado.
El deseo de Dios para nosotros es que seamos un puente. Que los caídos y los quebrantados puedan obtener sanidad y fortaleza a través de Sus hijos. Como hijos de Dios, somos solo una extensión de lo que es nuestro Padre Celestial. Sé el puente que lleva al pecador al salvador. Sé el puente que lleva al sediento a la fuente de aguas vivas. Pasamos mucho tiempo quemando puentes en lugar de convertirnos en un puente. Seamos como Jesús. Él era nuestro puente hacia Dios. Él tomó toda la ira de Dios para que pudiéramos ser perfectos mediante su sacrificio. Fue probado y el puente sigue siendo tan fuerte como siempre.

The first time I went across a bridge I was so nervous. The body of water was so big and in my mind I was already trying to look for another way just in case the bridge didn’t hold. I was trying to find the closest body of land that I might swim to it just in case the bridge gave way. What I failed to realize is that bridges are built to last. Bridges are put to the test before they are used by the public. They give us access that we might crossover to a certain destination.
God’s desire for us is that we be a bridge. That the fallen and the broken might be able to obtain healing and strength through His children. As children of God we are just an extension of who our Heavenly Father is. Be the bridge that takes the sinner to the savior. Be the bridge that takes the thirsty to the fountain of living waters. We spend so much time burning bridges instead of becoming a bridge. Let’s be like Jesus. He was our bridge to God. He took the full wrath of God that we could be perfect through his sacrifice. He was tested and the bridge is still as strong as ever.
